Following drone attacks on the Al-Abdali border crossing between Kuwait and Iraq, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement, strongly condemned what it described as the continuation of what it called “Iran’s brazen aggression and its proxy forces” against this country.

In the statement published on the X network, it said that these attacks constitute a clear violation of the sovereignty of the State of Kuwait and a direct threat to the security and stability of this country, as well as an infringement of international laws and the United Nations Charter.

The Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry emphasized that the continuation of these obvious and repeated attacks dangerously increases the risk of escalation in tensions and constitutes a direct threat to the security and stability of the region, and reflects an organized and unjustifiable hostile approach.

The Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry said that it once again emphasizes that the Kuwaiti government is committed to its full and legitimate right to defend itself, and that it will take all necessary measures to preserve sovereignty and defend its territory and to safeguard the country’s security and stability.

In a statement, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said that “with combined attacks, the U.S. Army’s special electronic warfare unit at the Al-Abdali base was destroyed, and by attacking the barracks of the forces of this unit, some of them were killed and/or injured.”

U.S. officials did not respond to this claim.

The IRGC says that “the observation tower of the base was also hit, causing damage to it, and our forces’ punitive operation continues.”

In recent days, Iran has repeatedly targeted sites in Kuwait and Bahrain. Iran says that “every base that is used to carry out aggression against Iran’s soil is a legitimate target for the armed forces of this country.”
