Joseph Aoun, the President of Lebanon, condemned the Islamic Republic’s repeated attacks on Gulf Arab countries and also Jordan, calling them “criminal acts of aggression.”
On Tuesday, Aoun said in a statement that the latest attack on Saudi Arabia, as well as the targeting of Jordan, is an “obvious attempt to disrupt security and stability in the region.”
He wrote: “We consider these hostile acts as clear and multi-sourced efforts that not only target the security and sovereignty of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and other targeted countries, but are also, in an organized manner, seeking to undermine the stability of the Arab Gulf and keep the entire region in a permanent state of tension and concern; an issue that is in line with plans that do not seek the good and welfare of our Arab peoples.”
The President of Lebanon also said that the security and stability of these countries is an inseparable part of the national security of the Arab world, and stated that any assault on the sovereignty of “brotherly countries” constitutes an assault on Lebanon’s and the Arab world’s strategic depth.
