The Jerusalem Post, citing regional diplomatic sources, reported that at the same time as the rapid advance of Houthi forces affiliated with the Islamic Republic along the Bab al-Mandab Strait and their attacks on Saudi Arabia, Riyadh has turned to Israel for intelligence assistance.
The Jerusalem Post also added that diplomatic sources in the region said that Saudi Arabia and Israel, through mediation by the Central Command of the United States, held talks to help the Saudis protect themselves.
The report further said that the continued advance of the Houthis and the restriction of Saudi ships’ traffic in the Bab al-Mandab Strait have raised concerns in Saudi Arabia and other countries in the region. In particular, there is concern that a possible U.S. agreement with the Islamic Republic and the Houthis, without resolving the existing security threats, could expose these countries to further attacks.
