🔸Javad Mojabi, a prominent Iranian poet, writer, satirist, and literary and arts critic, died on Saturday, September 14, at the age of 86, after enduring a period of cancer.

🔸Javad Mojabi was born in 1318 in Qazvin and worked for more than six decades in the fields of literature, journalism, and criticism of the visual arts. He studied law and economics and, from the late 1340s, entered the press professionally. He also served for some time as the cultural desk editor of the “Ettelaat” newspaper.

🔸Dozens of books by Javad Mojabi have been published in the forms of poetry, short stories, novels, satire, and artistic research. “A Season for You,” “Night of the Grasshoppers,” “Crossing the Red Garden,” and “Notes of a Pretentious Man” are among his best-known works.

🔸He also devoted a significant part of his work to criticism and research on modern art and Iran’s visual arts.

🔸In the years leading up to the 1979 Revolution, he was among the writers who criticized the political atmosphere and censorship under the Pahlavi government, and in the first months after the revolution he also covered political developments.
