🔶 Iraqchi addresses the United States: abide by your signature Abbas Iraqchi, foreign minister of the Islamic Republic, posted images of a funeral procession for Ali Khamenei, the former leader of the Islamic Republic, and claimed that "millions of Iranians" attended the ceremony to pay tribute to Khamenei and his "lasting legacy". Iraqchi also wrote in another part of his message in English that the aforementioned gathering that took part in the ceremony, as well as the armed forces of the Islamic Republic, "are not afraid of any threat." The foreign minister of the Islamic Republic then, citing paragraph 13 of the Iran–United States memorandum of understanding, wrote that this paragraph is "completely clear and explicit." Iraqchi, with an implicit reference to recent remarks by Donald Trump, the U.S. president, wrote: "As long as threats against Iran continue, negotiations to reach a final agreement will not begin. Abide by your signature." The day before, Trump had told reporters in the Oval Office of the White House that the United States would be allowed to remove Iran’s uranium reserves with high enrichment, although the Islamic Republic has never confirmed that it agreed to such a thing.
