🔻Iran’s Minister of Economy in Moscow: Good Developments Are on the Way
Ali Moadenizadeh, Iran’s Minister of Economy, told reporters upon arriving at Moscow’s airport this morning that he is “seeking to finalize the previous understandings between the two countries,” and promised that with the signing of the relevant contracts and the development of financial ties, “good openings are on the way.”
According to IRNA, the visit by Iran’s Minister of Economy to Russia includes meetings and talks with Russia’s Minister of Finance, participation in the discussions in the format of the BRICS group and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and attendance at a forum for Iranian and Russian traders and businesspeople.
Iran’s Minister of Economy is making the trip to Russia while economic pressure has increased and, with the continuation of the United States’ naval blockade, inflation in Iran has reached an unprecedented figure, and the rial has fallen sharply to about 225,000 toman per dollar.
In response to the U.S. Treasury Secretary’s remarks about intensifying sanctions and economic pressure on Iran, Moadenizadeh had said: “The idea that, by applying pressure on Iran’s economy, one can change the decisions of a nation is wrong.”
