Hassan Rouhani, the former president of the Islamic Republic, says that after learning of the plan to hold a meeting of senior officials of the Islamic Republic with Ali Khamenei in Ramadan 1404, he tried to cancel the meeting through several channels.

The former president said the reason for his concern was the possibility that Israel or the United States would attack the meeting venue, and that if the meeting took place, a large number of the Islamic Republic’s senior political, judicial and military officials would have been present at the same time in one place.
