Fathollah Toseli, the spokesperson for the Parliament’s Economic Commission, told the House of Nation news agency: “The United States and Europe cannot bring the Iranian people to the negotiating table from a position of weakness through sanctions and threats, and the Islamic Republic has repeatedly shown that it stands against demands for more.”
Toseli added: “Despite the most severe sanctions, the Iranian people have not only not retreated from their principles and national interests, but have also been able to continue the path of domestic progress, the indigenization of industries, and the expansion of their regional and international cooperation.”
He further said: “Although economic pressures have created costs, in the end they have led to greater internal unity and less trust in the West.”
