🔶 "Drone attack on camp of an Iranian Kurdish group in Erbil"
Security sources in Iraqi Kurdistan told Reuters on Thursday, July 9 (18 Tir) that a drone attack was carried out on a camp belonging to an Iranian Kurdish opposition group in the northeastern outskirts of Erbil, Iraq.
As a result of the attack, as of the time this report was prepared, no casualties have been reported.
Following recent intense attacks by the Islamic Republic forces on the headquarters of Kurdish parties based in the Kurdistan region of Iraq during the “Woman, Life, Freedom” protests, and amid escalating clashes between the United States and Iran, military activities against the headquarters of these parties have intensified further, with Tehran also pressuring the government in Baghdad and the Kurdistan regional government to shut down the headquarters of these parties.
Many Iranian Kurdish opposition parties say they have ended their military and armed activities. In recent days, the most clashes involving the Islamic Republic forces have been with the forces of the so-called Kurdistan Freedom Party, known as PJAK.
No further information has been published about today’s targeted camp or which party it belongs to.
