Trump said that by building oil pipelines across the Middle East, the Strait of Hormuz would no longer be so necessary, and that Iran, if it continued its current behavior, would lose its influence over this strategic passage.

Trump said: “If Iran doesn’t wise up, it will reach a point where the Strait of Hormuz will no longer be very necessary.” He added that pipeline lines in different parts of the Middle East are being constructed so that oil would no longer have to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.
