Levin referred to a New York Post report that details the torture of two twin sisters named Taraneh and Romina Rahimi.

The two sisters were detained for participating in protests and were subjected to months of severe torture, including beatings, broken bones, swelling of their faces and bodies, and having their hair pulled by the guards.

In one of the visits, their mother was even unable to recognize them by appearance and could only identify them by their voices.

According to the report, after being threatened with rape of her sister, Taraneh Rahimi was forced to make a confession and was sentenced to death. Her sister Romina was also sentenced to 25 years in prison.

Their family says no evidence was presented against the sisters and that the judicial process also faced serious problems.
