Alireza Namvar Haghighi, a political analyst, said the Islamic Republic, in order to break the maritime blockade, must either act through military means or increase the economic cost for the countries around the Persian Gulf, but so far it has not succeeded in achieving these goals.

He added that the United States’ economic blockade has three simultaneous consequences: intensifying the rift within the power structure, weakening the position of the Islamic Republic in negotiations, and reducing its financial and military ability to continue confrontation. According to Namvar Haghighi, Washington, by carrying out this strategy, is pursuing pressure for negotiations while also reducing the Islamic Republic’s capacity to respond.
