Ali Mosaheh, a film journalist, in an interview with IranWire TV, referring to the political positions that Akbar Abdiy has taken over the past two decades, says: “After the 1970s, he was no longer a superstar and went into decline, so it seems he decided to align his positions with the government. What’s interesting is that in the early 1970s, when the film ‘Tohfa-e Hind’ was released with Akbar Abdiy’s performance, a faction affiliated with Ansar Hezbollah, which Massoud Dehnamaki was a member of, attacked the Cinema of Palestine on the grounds that the film was vulgar and smashed its windows. Later, Akbar Abdiy acted in several films for Massoud Dehnamaki.”
