⚡In remarks delivered Friday night at Mount Rushmore ahead of the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States, US President Donald Trump said: “As we approach this momentous anniversary, we see that our American identity is once again under attack. A generation after we fought—and won—the Cold War against the threat of communism, we are now witnessing the return of that threat on our soil; including from newcomers who have come to our country and who support ideas that are completely at odds with our way of life and our great success.” He said: “These are not just political disagreements, like disagreements over taxes or regulations. Communism is a deadly threat to America’s freedom. It is the biggest threat to our country; even bigger than World War I, World War II, the attack on Pearl Harbor, or even the 9/11 attacks. We will not allow that to happen to us. Believe me, we will not let it happen.”
