Donald Trump announced that he is nominating Keith A. Sonderling to serve permanently as the U.S. Secretary of Labor.

Trump said Sonderling previously served in the department as deputy secretary and chief operating officer.

According to Trump, during his first presidential term, Sonderling also held positions at the U.S. Department of Labor, including acting administrator and deputy administrator of the Wage and Hour Division.

Trump claimed that Sonderling’s record shows a commitment to delivering results for American workers and that he will perform successfully in his new role.
