SpaceX launched a Falcon 9 rocket from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California on Sunday morning, carrying 23 Starlink satellites into low-Earth orbit. The mission added to the company’s expanding broadband constellation, which now spans thousands of spacecraft around the planet.
The launch marked another routine deployment for SpaceX as it continues to build out Starlink’s global network. The rocket lifted off successfully from the coast after preflight checks and a countdown that proceeded without reported issues.
Starlink is designed to provide internet service in areas with limited or no traditional connectivity. SpaceX has relied on frequent Falcon 9 flights to keep the system growing, with Vandenberg serving as a regular West Coast launch site.
The company has sharply increased its launch cadence in recent years, making Falcon 9 one of the most active rockets in service. Sunday’s mission underscores how central Starlink deployment remains to SpaceX’s commercial space strategy.
