Ceasefire negotiations on Gaza resumed in Cairo on Monday, with Egypt, Qatar and the United States taking part in the latest round of mediation. The talks are aimed at reaching an agreement that could reduce fighting and ease the humanitarian toll on civilians in the territory.
The renewed discussions come as regional security diplomacy is widening alongside the Gaza file, reflecting the scale of the conflict’s impact beyond the immediate battlefield. Mediation efforts have repeatedly focused on securing terms that could halt hostilities, facilitate aid access and address hostage and detainee issues.
So far, no breakthrough has been announced. The process remains fragile, with major gaps still standing between the parties. Civilians in Gaza continue to bear the heaviest burden as negotiators try to convert indirect talks into a workable ceasefire framework.
