SpaceX launched a Falcon 9 rocket from Vandenberg Space Force Base on Saturday evening, placing 28 Starlink satellites into low-Earth orbit. The mission added another batch of internet satellites to the company’s expanding network.
The launch marked another routine deployment for SpaceX, which has used repeated Falcon 9 flights to build out its Starlink constellation. The company has leaned on the rocket’s reusability to support frequent missions from both the West Coast and Florida.
According to the Reuters report, the spacecraft were successfully deployed after liftoff. The flight adds to the thousands of satellites already operating in SpaceX’s broadband system, which serves users in remote and underserved areas around the world.
