A published report points to intensified inflationary pressure on low-income households and rural residents. Based on these data, point inflation for the first income decile was reported at 100.2 percent, while the figure for the tenth decile was 85.8 percent.
Point-to-point inflation in rural areas was also reported to be 22.9 percent higher than in cities. This gap shows that rising prices have hit less-developed areas more unevenly.
In another part of the report, annual inflation in rural areas was put at 72.4 percent and in urban areas at 60.3 percent. These figures highlight the widening gap in living conditions between rural and urban areas.
