Donald Trump, the President of the United States, spoke about Iran in an interview with NBC that aired on Thursday. Mr. Trump said, “I have established a naval blockade that in fact was not just one blockade, but a steel wall. We have a great navy; the biggest navy in the world. These forces are exceptional. Not even a single ship was able to reach Iran.” Mr. Trump said officials of the Islamic Republic are “facing 300% inflation. They have no revenue.” He, referring to an agreement reached with the Islamic Republic, said that it is expected that part of the money frozen as a result of sanctions against the Islamic Republic “we will remove and use it to buy for them. They need food. They need corn, wheat and soy.” Mr. Trump, implicitly referring to ongoing negotiations, said: “If we get to where we need to get, then only American farmers will provide these products for them. I think we will get to that point.”
