🔶 Mohseni Eje’i was appointed for another term as head of the judiciary with a decree by Mojtaba Khamenei Mojtaba Khamenei, the leader of the Islamic Republic, issued an order to keep Gholamhosein Mohseni Eje’i in office as head of the judiciary for another term. In the text of this order, it is stated: “With appreciation for your valuable and sincere efforts, and pursuant to Article 157 of the Constitution, I appoint you as the head of the judiciary.” Hours after the publication of this decree, Masoud Pezeshkian, the president of Iran, congratulated the reappointment of Mohseni Eje’i in a message, calling this appointment “a sign of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic’s trust in his commitment, experience, and services.” Eje’i was appointed head of the judiciary on 10 Tir 1400, and the first five-year term of his responsibility has recently ended. Mohseni Eje’i is among the well-known figures involved in repression and human-rights violations in Iran. After the protests in Dey 1404 and, in particular, following the recent war, he repeatedly asked prosecutors to deal with the files of detainees from these protests, as well as people who were arrested on charges of “cooperation,” “association with the enemy,” or “espionage,” more quickly and to carry out the related verdicts.
