⚡The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said in a social media post on X that the USS Bux and the USS Portland sailed across the Indian Ocean on June 30, 2026 (9 Tir 1405) while maintaining a naval formation. CENTCOM said the Boxer Amphibious Ready Group and the U.S. Marine Corps’ Eleventh Marine Expeditionary Unit, which are based in this group, are currently operating in the Middle East as part of a mission that had been planned in advance. CENTCOM added that the Boxer Amphibious Ready Group also includes the USS Comstock, which entered the area in early May. The missions of CENTCOM forces include carrying out the “Righteous Fury” operations and imposing a naval blockade on ports in Iran.
