Swift

Apps for iPhone and iPad.

Swift is the language of Apple's platforms: iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch and Vision Pro. It is fast, safe by design and pleasant to read. This track starts from zero: constants and variables, optionals, decisions and loops, functions and closures, then structs, classes, enums and protocols. You will meet Swift 6's compile-time protection against data races, take a first look at async code and actors, and build your first SwiftUI screen. A last module turns it into a real app: lists and navigation, JSON from the network with Codable, and saving data with SwiftData.

Every lesson is short, practical and checked with quizzes, so you learn by doing.

What you'll be able to do

  • Write Swift with constants, variables and its strict, helpful type system
  • Handle missing values safely with optionals
  • Write functions with argument labels and process arrays with closures
  • Choose between structs, classes and enums, and design with protocols
  • Call async code and protect shared state with actors
  • Build a first interactive SwiftUI screen
