They weren’t there for us.” The image Trump shared shows the United States’ defense spending is estimated at about $999 billion, while the defense budget is listed as $90.5 billion for the United Kingdom, $66.5 billion for France, $48.8 billion for Italy, and $44.3 billion for Poland. By sharing this image, Trump once again reiterated the message that the United States bears a much larger share than other NATO members in funding the alliance’s defense costs.
