He rejected the notion that Washington has taken seriously the emergence of new “pragmatic” leadership in Tehran. When asked whether recent statements by U.S. officials in Israel have raised concerns that Washington’s approach to Iran could be changing, Huckabee said: “I don’t think so. I don’t think we’re seeing a change in approach.” He emphasized that Donald Trump has been completely clear in his position regarding Iran. The U.S. ambassador to Israel said Trump has repeatedly stated clearly that Iran should never be allowed to acquire nuclear weapons. He added: “They won’t be able to remain a threat to Israel and the United States.”
