The Pentagon said Friday it is preparing a new $225 million security assistance package for Ukraine as Russian strikes continue to target cities across the country. The latest aid is expected to include air defense systems and artillery ammunition, according to the Reuters report.
The announcement comes amid sustained attacks that have strained Ukraine’s defenses and left civilians facing repeated waves of danger. Air defense remains a central priority for Kyiv as it works to shield homes, power infrastructure and other critical sites from missile and drone strikes.
Washington has repeatedly supported Ukraine with military assistance since Russia’s full-scale invasion began, and the new package would add to that long-running effort. The report did not give an exact delivery date for the equipment.
The latest move underscores continued U.S. backing for Ukraine as the war grinds on, with civilian protection and battlefield resupply remaining urgent concerns.
