Delcy Rodriguez, the acting president of Venezuela, announced that the major earthquake in Caracas has so far left 2,595 people dead. She made the figure public during a press conference and noted that at least 11,500 people have lost their homes as a result of the incident. Two major earthquakes on Wednesday, the third of Tir (July 24), shook about 160 kilometers west of Caracas. President Trump immediately ordered assistance for the victims of this incident and allocated a total of 150 million dollars in humanitarian aid to Venezuela. The U.S. State Department also said that more than 250 rescue personnel and three specialized search teams, as well as medical and engineering teams, would be sent to Venezuela.
