👉 The U.S. Army announced that following an emergency landing of a helicopter of the “UH-60 S H Seahawk” type in the Arabian Sea, one U.S. servicemember is missing, and three other servicemembers in the helicopter’s crew were also injured; their physical condition has been reported as stable. According to Reuters, citing the U.S. Army, it also stressed that there is no indication to suggest the incident was caused by a hostile act. In a statement from the U.S. Navy’s Fifth Fleet, it said: “Navy ships are currently carrying out search-and-rescue operations in the area to find another crew member who remains missing. Investigations into how this incident occurred are also ongoing.” The statement also said that the helicopter was based in the area on the aircraft carrier “USS George H. W. Bush” and had been dispatched on a mission. Emergency landings of helicopters on water can be extremely dangerous even for experienced pilots, because helicopters whose upper sections are heavier typically tend to capsize when they hit the water and may end up in an inverted position in the water. ✅
