Abdolrahim Solymani Ardestani, a religious researcher, a university professor, and a member of the Assembly of Teachers and Researchers at the Qom Seminary, who is serving his period of imprisonment in Qom’s coastal prison, has been denied visits with his family since the time of his arrest. According to HRANA, Mr. Solymani Ardestani has not been allowed to meet his family since his arrest in early Farvardin of this year. His phone calls have also been limited to less than one minute, and in protest of these restrictions, this religious researcher has announced that he will no longer use phone calls. Abdolrahim Solymani Ardestani was recently sentenced by the Special Clergy Court to six years in prison, payment of a fine, and deprivation of clerical clothing.
