On Wednesday, July 17, the Jordanian government, while condemning attacks by the Islamic Republic of Iran against Kuwait, described these actions as a blatant violation of Kuwait’s sovereignty. In a statement by the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the attacks were described as “aggressive,” a clear violation of international law and the United Nations Charter that contributes to escalating tensions in the region. Jordan also emphasized its “full solidarity” with Kuwait and said it supports all steps the Kuwaiti government takes to preserve its sovereignty, security, and the protection of its citizens and residents. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed that in response to the early-morning attacks by the United States on Wednesday, it targeted 85 military objectives linked to the United States in Bahrain and Kuwait with missile and drone attacks.
