The Pentagon said on Friday that the United States will send an additional $225 million in security assistance to Ukraine. The package is expected to include air defense systems and artillery ammunition, according to the announcement.
The latest aid follows continued fighting in Ukraine, where air defenses and ammunition remain critical to the country’s military response. U.S. officials have repeatedly framed the assistance as support for Ukraine’s self-defense amid Russia’s ongoing war.
The announcement adds to a long-running stream of American military support since Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022. Washington has approved multiple aid packages aimed at helping Ukraine hold territory, protect civilians, and sustain frontline operations.
The Pentagon did not immediately provide a detailed breakdown of every item in the new package. Reuters reported the total value at $225 million, citing the department’s confirmation.
