Nvidia has introduced Blackwell Ultra, its latest AI accelerator, and says the chip delivers a 40% improvement in training performance compared with the original Blackwell platform. The announcement underscores the company’s push to extend its lead in the fast-growing market for artificial intelligence hardware.
The new chip is aimed at large cloud operators and other major customers that are expanding their AI infrastructure. Nvidia said demand remains strong among hyperscalers as they race to build and upgrade systems capable of handling increasingly complex models and heavier computing workloads.
Blackwell Ultra is the latest step in Nvidia’s effort to keep pace with soaring demand for high-end processors used in training and running AI systems. The company has benefited from a wave of spending by tech giants seeking more powerful and efficient chips for data centers.
The launch also highlights the intensifying competition in AI hardware, where chipmakers are under pressure to deliver more performance without sharply increasing energy use or infrastructure costs. Nvidia’s latest product aims to reinforce its position as a key supplier in that market.
