Ship-tracking data from Vortexa shows that United Arab Emirates oil exports in June have surpassed levels from before the closure of the Strait of Hormuz by the Islamic Republic. Last month, the UAE exported an average of 3.7 million barrels per day of oil and gas condensates; whereas in the period before the war, this figure ranged from 3.1 to 3.3 million barrels. Bloomberg news agency also reported that last month, for a short period, daily UAE oil exports even peaked at 3.9 million barrels per day, the highest figure since 2017. In addition to the Strait of Hormuz, the UAE also exports oil from the port of Fujairah in the Arabian Sea. TankerTrackers data also indicates renewed loading activity from Saudi Arabian oil terminals in the Persian Gulf. It also shows that during the second half of last month, with the suspension of the U.S. maritime blockade, Iran sent 50 million barrels of oil to markets.
