Russia launched a fresh wave of missile and drone strikes against Ukraine overnight, hitting energy infrastructure and leaving parts of the country without power, according to Ukrainian officials.
Authorities said the attacks caused outages in several regions as emergency crews worked to assess damage and restore electricity. The strikes are the latest in a long-running campaign that has targeted Ukraine’s power grid and put civilian services under repeated strain.
Ukrainian officials did not immediately provide a full tally of damaged facilities or the scale of the outages. Reuters reported that the assault involved both missiles and drones, underscoring the continued threat to critical infrastructure far from the front line.
The renewed attack comes as Ukrainian communities continue to face the human cost of Russia’s war, including disruptions to heating, transport, and essential services when energy systems are hit.
