Liverpool have reached an agreement to sign Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez, according to Sky Sports. The Premier League clubs have settled on a deal after Bournemouth accepted an offer reported to be worth about £40m.

Kerkez is set to join Liverpool as the club strengthens at left-back ahead of the new season. The move follows weeks of transfer interest in the Hungary international, who impressed for Bournemouth last season.

The transfer adds another major addition to Liverpool’s summer business and gives the club a younger option on the left side of defence. Bournemouth, meanwhile, are set to lose one of their standout performers from the previous campaign.

Further formal steps are expected before the move is completed, but the fee agreement marks a significant breakthrough in negotiations between the two clubs.
