At the same time as the funeral ceremony of Ali Khamenei, the second leader, the Islamic Republic invited a number of foreign influencers and social media activists who have a history of supporting the policies of the Iranian government to cover the ceremony; an action that is assessed as part of the government’s use of foreign figures to reproduce the official narrative in the media and on social networks.
